Created with design input from big-mountain ski pioneer Chris Davenport, the Freedom SL is the new vanguard in Freeride ski boots. Combining high-performance, touring compatibility, and a category-leading cuff range (27 degrees), SCARPA has created a truly multipurpose all mountain machine. SCARPA’s proprietary Carbon Core Technology yields a 120 flex index and alpine performance, and is bolstered by a custom Intuition® liner for warmth and comfort. It’s finished with superior walk ergonomics, all at 3lbs 13oz per boot (size 27). Interchangeable soles that are bolted through the carbon-fiber frame offer compatibility with any ski binding, from alpine to tech bindings, in a design that improves strength and power transfer to the ski, whether you’re charging a resort’s test pieces or tackling big lines in the backcountry.     • Scarpa® Ride Power Block® - Easy mechanism to unlock and lock due to the absence of the connecting rod between the shell and cuff. Friction is reduced to zero to maximize the freedom of movement during the walking.

  • Shell/Cuff Material - Pebax Rnew + Carbon / Polyamide
    • Pebax® Rnew Shell - Pebax® Rnew is a bio-based plastic made from Castor seeds - powerful, light and "green" as well.
    • Carbon Core Technology - Power Transmission and anti-torsion control. Advanced technology for maximum performance. "Carbon Core Technology" is a carbon insert that is over-injected on the shell sole to stiffen the boot and improve the transmission of power to the ski throughout the length of the boot shell. Increased power for a high-level performance.
    • Protective Rays - Molded onto the shell, these rays are designed to protect the first bottom buckle from accidental impacts.
  • Buckles -Zeus Buckles (Light, easy to use with gloves on, with even pressure distribution and power)
    • Top Buckles: Extended Buckle Racks - The last element of the rack plays an important role during the uphill: it efficiently locks the buckle, preventing any movement and guaranteeing optimum comfort during the walk.
    • Lower Buckle: Special Zipped Rack - Special hinged rack that simplifies getting in and out of the boot when the liner is on.
    • + Scarpa Finger Strap - A PU tab sewn to the power strap makes adjustments easy while wearing gloves.

    • A medium wide forefoot combined with comfortable instep height provide a comfortable, all day fit for a majority of skiers.
    • Freeride Last - The anatomical last that provides the best fit for freeriding. Designed for freeriders’ needs, the specific last of the Freedom series ensures a precise fit for aggressive skiing on steep slopes.
    • Overlap Closure Technology - Designed to ensure a perfect wrap of the cuff and the shell, "Overlap Closure Technology" allows the correct movement of the ankle and creates direct power transmission to the skis.The front of the cuff is separated into two areas between the cuff buckle, for a uniform and precise closure of the tibial area. A different thickness and oblique profile on the bottom guarantees the correct wrapping of the forefoot without any pressure points.
